2008 NCIL Annual Conference July 21-24, 2008 Sponsorship Opportunities On behalf of the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL), I ask you to support our 2008 Annual Conference on Independent Living. The Annual Conference will take place July 21-24, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC. The theme this Presidential election year is “Time for Change… Use Your Power!” Help us create a world in which people with disabilities are valued equally and participate fully! NCIL’s Annual Conference attracts approximately 750 employers, disability leaders, independent living advocates, and Members of Congress. Our sponsorship opportunities are an excellent chance to reach out to NCIL members and the entire disability community. The conference is a week-long event featuring plenary sessions, an exhibit fair, a march and rally to the U.S. Capitol, and a full array of workshops. Our Annual Awards Dinner will once again be the highlighting event, showcasing the accomplishments of our community and serving as a culmination of the week’s events. Founded in 1982, NCIL is celebrating 26 years as the longest running national cross-disability, grassroots organization run by and for people with disabilities. We are an association of people with disabilities, Centers for Independent Living (CILs,) Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs,) and other disability rights organizations serving hundreds of thousands people with disabilities in every state and territory of the country. As a membership organization, NCIL advances independent living and the rights of people with disabilities through consumer-driven advocacy. Our current membership boasts over 400 CILS, SILCs and Organizations committed to the independence and empowerment of individuals with disabilities. Enclosed you will find a sponsor benefits package, along with exhibit and advertising information. If you have any questions please contact Justin Chappell at (202)207-0334 or justin@ncil.org.
