The Kenai Peninsula Independent Living Center, based in Homer, Alaska is recruiting applicants to fill its Program Coordinator position for TRAILS.  TRAILS is the Center’s inclusive recreation program that serves three major communities on the Kenai Peninsula; Homer, Kenai/Soldotna and Seward.  The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing year round activities and adventure in these areas.  Local staff in each office assist with implementation of the activities.  Past programming includes down hill skiing at Alyeska Resort, kayaking in Resurrection Bay, a river float down the Kenai, dog sledding in Homer, silver fishing on the Kasilof, blue berry picking in Seldovia, weekly drama club, an artist workshops series and much more.   The Kenai Peninsula is a large outdoor playground with small communities located throughout.

The successful applicant must have experience working with individuals of various ages and a variety of disabilities in the arena of recreation.  This position requires passion, hard work and dedication to recreation and empowerment of persons with disabilities of all ages.  The Program Coordinator must be a skilled fund raiser and have experience developing volunteer corps in each community.
