POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Director of Housing Resource Center

The Ability Center of Greater Toledo has an opening for Director of Housing Resource Center.  The organization is nationally recognized for its advocacy efforts, and provides programs that represent best practices in Independent Living.  Located in Northwest Ohio, Toledo is a community of 300,000 people that provides a mid-western lifestyle with culture.  Toledo takes pride in its nationally ranked zoo, wonderful art venues, and the world famous “Toledo Mud Hens” baseball team.  Located on the shores of Lake Erie, Toledo is an hour drive to Detroit and Windsor, Canada.

The Director of Housing Resource Center is responsible for the development and supervision of ACT’s Housing and Resource Center.   They will establish collaborative relationships with community agencies and work closely with the Manager of Public Relations/Disability Awareness to promote Housing Locator Services/Home Accessibility to surrounding communities.  This position will develop innovative housing opportunities for individuals with disabilities.  The Director will work with state agencies to ensure funding support for independent living options.  Other responsibilities include creating a network of necessary resources to support consumers, and coordinating referrals and follow-up services with other ACT Directors.  They will provide training opportunities for staff members in relation to their professional development goals.  The Director will maintain a budget in conjunction with the Director of Finance, perform program evaluations, record Strategic Plan accomplishments and report information to the Director of Consumer Services.   This position may require travel to satellite offices, consumer and community locations, vendor locations, meetings, seminars, and/or professional meetings.  The Center offers competitive wages and an excellent benefit package.  Please mail, fax or e-mail resume along with salary requirements and references.

Director of Independent Living Programs

The Director of Independent Living Programs is responsible for the development, planning and implementation of Independent Living Services.   They will develop and maintain relationships with community organizations.  The Director will supervise and coordinate all IL related activities including Summer Programs, Peer Support, ILIVE, Project LIFE, Skills Training, Recreation Inclusion and Youth Transition.  They will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Public Relations/Events to promote Independent Living Programs for people with disabilities.  Other responsibilities include maintaining records, performing program evaluations, recording Strategic Plan accomplishments and reporting information to the Director of Consumer Services.  They will work in conjunction with the Director of Finance on a program budget and will review and evaluate all programs.  The Director of Independent Living will provide innovative opportunities to encourage individual staff growth and development.  This position may require travel to satellite offices, consumer and community locations, vendor locations, meetings, seminars, and/or professional meetings.  The Center offers competitive wages and an excellent benefit package.  Please mail, fax or e-mail resume along with salary requirements and references.
