Change, But Leading It!

Dear Center for Independent Living Executive Director:

The Research and Training Center on Measurement and Interdependence in Community Living (RTC/MICL) at the University of Kansas, in cooperation with the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) is working on a joint project to learn more about increasing and enhancing community participation of consumers with varying disabilities. We are asking Centers for Independent Living across the country about their best or emerging practices.

Attached you will find forms to complete if you want to share information about innovative and exemplary practices your Center is doing to increase and enhance consumer’s participation in the community. You may submit up to two applications. Each must address one of the identified content areas. Four Centers will be selected and invited to present and participate in a panel discussion at the annual National Council on Independent Living in Washington, DC. Please note that the selection committee will only give one award per Center. Each of the four selected candidates will receive a  $1,000 cash award to go toward travel and NCIL conference registration. Thank you for your time and consideration. If you are interested, please fill out this application and send it in as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Glen White,                                                     John Lancaster, NCIL
Director RTC/MICL                                       Executive Director, NCIL
