NCIL supports HR4
The Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act of 2007

 

NCIL recently sent a letter of support for HR 4 to the lead sponsors, Representative Charles Dingell, Chairman of the Energy & Commerce Committee, Representative Charles Rangel, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and Representative JoAnn Emerson. The letter is in an attachment.


This bi-partisan legislation is designed to empower HHS to negotiate for the best possible prices for prescription drugs for  Medicare beneficiaries in a manner similar to the way the Veterans’ Administration does.  Millions of people with disabilities are Medicare beneficiaries eligible for Part D prescription drug coverage.

The House of Representatives is expected to vote on HR 4 this Friday January 12, 2007.  If this is a priority for you, call your Representatives and let them know.  You can access a list of Representatives and their contact information at www.house.gov.
