Meet Your Trainer: Melissa Glisson served as executive director of ARISE, Inc., a Center for Independent Living in Syracuse, NY for seven years. During this time she worked as the Project Co-Director of the Program on Employment and Disability in the NYS School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. She has provided training and consultation to Centers for Independent Living and other nonprofit organizations in the areas of, financial management, board development, marketing, employment services and transition services. She has served on the board of directors of several agencies where she played an active role in advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. She is currently involved in advocating for individuals in the child welfare system ( adoption & fostercare) and for those living with mental health issues in America’s inner cities.

Tim Glisson has a 20 year association with the Independent Living movement having served professionally in such diverse capacities as advocate, lobbyist, legislative liason, board member and program, fund raising and marketing consultant.  As a conference trainer, his unique blend of governmental knowledge and program experience helps to promote both a broad and practical approach to raising and managing money.  Tim presently is the president of a Syracuse based non-profit serving many single moms and their children living with disabilities.

Please Note: We are very indebted to our presenters, who have put a huge amount of time and effort into creating a comprehensive two-day workshop for our registrants.  Please make travel arrangements to stay for the entire training, ending Wednesday, August 27 at 5:00pm.
