The CILNET training and technical assistance program is putting together this unprecedented National training to provide IL advocates with the tools and information they need to increase their impact on Olmstead implementation.  The training will begin with a keynote address by Sam Bagenstos, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, who will give his perspective on Olmstead enforcement from the Federal level.  The training, facilitated by Mark Johnson, will feature in-depth approaches to Olmstead enforcement from IL leaders from across the country.  From the simple tips that can be implemented quickly to complex statewide initiatives and legal action, you will gain the knowledge and resources to increase your impact on Olmstead and help consumers in your community and State live in the community!

  • The general status of Olmstead implementation across states, including the new stance federal agencies, especially the DOJ, are taking and what they have done to date;
  • The role that centers have in advancing Olmstead implementation, including what steps to take and how to take them; and,
