The Social Security Administration (SSA) has issued new regulations implementing the Ticket to Work (TTW) Program. The Ticket Program provides Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) beneficiaries with an opportunity to enter or reenter the workforce and can help generate revenue for CILs and SILCs that serve as Employment Networks. As an Employment Network, you can derive income from doing what you already do best, which is to help people with disabilities get back in the rhythm of daily life, and that includes going to work. To help implement the TTW Program, NCIL has partnered with SSA to recruit CILs and SILCs as Employment Networks. If you offer services such as skills assessment and development, vocational exploration and career planning, job search skills, school-to-work transition, job training and self-employment consultation, job coaching and job accommodations, and/or benefits planning -- or if you are interested in partnering with someone who does -- you could be tapping into a potential source of revenue from the TTW Program.
The new TTW Milestone and Outcome Payments outlined in the regulations can help you expand your services and potentially assist more people in achieving their employment goals and improving their quality of life. NCIL members are reviewing the final regulations. Stay tuned for more details soon. NCIL encourages you to learn more about the new Ticket to Work Program by reading the new regulations in text or PDF format, contacting the Program at 1-877-743-8237, and visiting the TTW Program website: www.ssa.gov/work/.
