CIL-NET Presents… A National Onsite Training:

Outcome Measures for Centers for Independent Living

September 13-15, 2011

Portland, OR

** Registration for this event is now closed **

Cost: $125.00

Many of our colleagues are already identifying the outcomes they want to achieve, regularly measuring their progress, and using what they learn to improve their programs and to document their successes. If you focus on the outcomes you want to achieve, you'll put the primary emphasis where it ought to be - on the positive changes you want to see in your Center’s IL program and in the community. Join us in beautiful Portland, Oregon!

Join us in Portland to Learn How to:

  • Motivate CIL colleagues and relevant others to care about defining, measuring, and using outcome information in the CIL context

  • Explain the overall CIL program’s logic model

  • Explain the recent NCIL-led field test of outcome measurement

  • Develop plans, materials, and procedures for measuring other outcomes of special interest to your own CIL

Guestroom block will open Tuesday, July 26

Presenters

Mike Hendricks received his Ph.D. in Methodology and Evaluation Research from Northwestern University, and ever since he's worked to help programs become as effective as possible. In particular, Mike believes it's very important that CILs and SILCs know exactly what we're trying to achieve, have a way to measure how we're doing, monitor our progress on a regular basis, and consistently use what we learn to improve our efforts. Mike has been a trainer for the IL NET for several years.

Bob Michaels is a long-time consultant and trainer for the independent living field who provides considerable training, technical assistance and consultation through the IL NET. Bob regularly consults with CILs and SILCs in such areas as standards and indicators, board training, leadership development, team building, history and philosophy of independent living, workforce development, peer support, advocacy, and SILC fundamentals. He was director of Liberty Resources, Inc., an independent living center in Philadelphia, PA for four years, overseeing a budget of $5.5 million and a staff of 50.
