NCIL-ABT Independent Sales Program

Opportunity for Independence

It’s a great day when you find employment that enables you to pay your bills and live comfortably. It’s an even better day when you become your own boss - true independence. The National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) and Accessible Bath Technologies (ABT) are working together to create an opportunity for motivated self-starters to manage their own business and generate considerable income as an Independent Sales Representative. This opportunity is available for anyone in the Independent Living Community, including CIL staff, consumers, and associates.

The Independent Sales Rep’s task is straightforward; work with individuals, organizations, and companies to find potential consumers of MyControl Bathing Systems. After finding an interested customer the Sales Rep forwards this information to ABT, and when the customer purchases a bathing system, the Sales Rep will receive a $500 referral fee directly from ABT for their work. If the Sales Rep is affiliated with a local CIL participating in the NCIL-ABT CIL Partnership, they could receive up to an additional $500 per successful referral from their Center.

ABT is specifically focused on increasing the number of commission-based Independent Sales Representatives with disabilities. MyControl is designed for people with disabilities, and is effectively sold by people with disabilities. Although not a requirement to be a Sales Rep, individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. CILs with employment programs should also present this opportunity as an option for their consumers seeking meaningful employment, which can eventually turn into financial independence. 

This isn’t a typical sales position. It offers individuals the independence to create their own schedule, set their own hours, and generate as much income as they are motivated to earn. This is also the only opportunity that directly generates income for Independent Living. For each successful referral of a MyControl unit, ABT will contribute an additional $2,000 that will be split between NCIL and the local CIL affiliated with the Sales Rep.
